College-Level Collaboration Retention Proposal

The President’s office is accepting proposals for innovative student retention collaborations across two or more colleges or departments, a college and a student service area (e.g., Learning Center, First Gen Center), and/or across two teaching modalities. The applicant should describe (a) the purpose of the retention collaboration initiative, (b) the population that will be served, (c) the current retention numbers and anticipated retention gains from the collaboration, and (d) how the programming can be made sustainable in the future when these seed monies are no longer available. Collaborations will be evaluated based on creativity of the collaboration and potential for demonstrable retention outcomes. Awarded collaborations will be provided from between $2,000 and $5,000 for their project. Documentation of outcomes will be assessed after one year.

College-Level At-Risk Retention Proposal

The President’s office is accepting proposals for college-level at-risk student programming. The applicant should describe (a) the purpose of the at-risk retention initiative, (b) the population that will be served with a comprehensive definition of “at-risk” for this population, (c) the specific tasks to be undertaken, (d) the current retention numbers and anticipated retention gain from the initiative, and (e) how the programming can be made sustainable in the future when these seed monies are no longer available. Awarded programs will be provided from between $5,000 and $7,000 for their project. Documentation of outcomes will be assessed after one year.

College-Level Retention Improvement Award

The President’s office is accepting award applications for colleges that have improved their retention from 2022 to 2024. The applicant will describe (a) the best practice activities that the college delivered to their students during the timeframe and (b) the retention growth metrics that were recorded, and (c) how the area would use the award monies in the future to advance retention efforts. Awarded colleges will receive between $1,000 and $2,000 for their award and must use the awarded monies to advance their retention efforts for the future. 

  • Applications are due February 2, 2024.
  • Retention date range: Fall 2022 census (9/7/22) to Spring 2024 census (1/29/24).
  • Proposals should not exceed (5) double-spaced pages.
  • Applicants should include details of how they will use the awarded monies in the future to advance retention efforts.
